Dr. Kimbro began her career as a young journalist in the Unites States Army. It was there, while writing a piece on a preventive medicine clinic, that she recalls being profoundly moved. As she observed and wrote about these doctors and their relationships with their patients, she felt motivated to dedicate her life to contributing to others, and soon after left the Army to pursue a career in medicine. With a desire to create a practice in which she could intimately relate to the needs of her patients, and having been raised in a houseful of sisters, Dr. Kimbro chose to make gynecology her area of focus.

Realizing early in her practice that women expressing personal challenges with their hormones and sexual health concerns are seeking more than a clinical diagnosis and a pill, Dr. Kimbro was inspired to explore a more comprehensive study of these concerns. Women would ask, “What can I do for my libido?” or “How do I address these changes in my body during menopause?” Dr. Kimbro understands that for these kinds of questions, women are looking for counsel from a doctor who deeply understands this most intimate of concerns, and who is a supportive and trusted advisor and strives to provide this.
By listening closely to her patients, she was able to better understand the complete picture of their overall health, and to design a plan tailored to their specific needs.

Over the past twenty years, Dr. Kimbro has crafted a specialized approach to addressing women’s health issues, and her successes can be counted in the lives of the healthy women who look to her expertise in the field, and her compassion as a physician.

With a strong belief in the importance of giving back, Dr. Kimbro is on the board of the North Sonoma County Healthcare Foundation, an organization that brings together community donors in support of quality healthcare close to home.

Dr. Kimbro also frequently travels abroad to share her time and skills with under-served populations around the world. In Tibet, in a particularly rural area of small villages, she taught nomadic women who act as community health workers and birth attendants, women’s health topics, obstetrical skills and lifesaving practices for both mothers and their babies invaluable for a community with limited access to healthcare.
